The SRA has warned the public to be wary of contact from anyone claiming to be from Adams and Adams Solicitors.
They have been told that consumers have been contacted by people claiming to be from Adams and Adams Solicitors using the e-mail address adamschamber@hotmail.co.uk
The contact has claimed the recipient is a beneficiary of an estate and requesting payment to carry out work to protect the recipient’s inheritance.
The SRA does not regulate a firm called Adams and Adams Solicitors.
Any business or transactions through the bogus firm Adams and Adams Solicitors are not undertaken by a solicitor’s practice or anyone authorised or regulated by the SRA.
The SRA does regulate a genuine firm called Adams Solicitors Limited, based at Adams House, 129 Mile End Road, London, E1 4BG.
The legitimate firm’s numbers are 0207 790 2000 and 0207 471 1744.Any information about or dealings with Adams and Adams Solicitors, particularly if it involves the payment of money, should be reported to the police.
Affected members of the public can also report the matter to the SRA via the fraud@sra.org.uk e-mail.
