SLC opens membership to non-licensed conveyancers

The Society of Licensed Conveyancers (SLC) will be introducing a new Associate Membership category from January 2013.

Those working within the conveyancing profession but not employed as Licensed Conveyancers will be eligible to join on this basis.

Associate Members will be able to access the range of benefits enjoyed by more than 200 existing members.

Non-Licensed Conveyancers wishing to join the SLC can apply for membership in the same way as Licensed Conveyancers. Either by contacting the SLC direct or by completing the online member application form, accessible from the SLC website.

They will be able to access free CPD events, advice and support services, legal form sets and other stationery and a free copy of The Licensed Conveyancer, the SLC’s bi-monthly journal.

Simon Law, Chairman, Society of Licensed Conveyancers (SLC) said: “Over the last year in particular, the SLC has grown both in its size and in the range of services we are able to offer our members.

"As a result of this, we have had many requests from the wider conveyancing profession, keen to join the Society and access the many benefits offered to our members.

“In response to this, we have taken the decision to create an Associate Membership, which will allow non-Licensed Conveyancers to join the SLC and access a range of the benefits we have on offer.”

The SLC board will continue to be made up solely of Licensed Conveyancers.
