SLC announces new additions to its board

As it embraces one of the most significant years in its existence, the Society of Licensed Conveyancers (SLC) has announced the appointment of two new members to its board.

With the official launch of its new lender panel proposition SLC Quality Assured (SLCQA) imminent, the Society has been working tirelessly with the lending community as it continues to drive its campaign to get access to all lenders’ panels for all Licensed Conveyancers. To support the launch of its proposition and its ambitious growth plans for the year, the SLC has taken the decision add to its existing board of directors.

Simon Law, who runs his own practice, Secure Legal Solutions and John Wells, of specialist property lawyers Roberts Rose, have joined the board with immediate effect. Both are practicing Licensed Conveyancers and have extensive experience in the conveyancing arena.

John Clay, Chairman, Society of Licensed Conveyancers (SLC) said: “These latest appointments will help to strengthen an already very experienced and committed board at the SLC. With ambitious growth targets to meet, in terms of increasing the size of our membership and the launch of our new lenders’ panel proposition in the pipeline, this is a big year for the SLC. The contribution that both Simon and John will be able to make in terms of expertise as well as time dedicated to the Society will be invaluable.

“Both have been members of the SLC for some time and have played an active role in our continued growth and success. I would like to take this opportunity to welcome both Simon and John into their new roles and look forward to working with them closely over the coming months.

The Society of Licensed Conveyancers is the professional body representing the Licensed Conveyancer profession. Having first been established in the 1980s, the SLC was re-launched with a new vigour in 2011, with the aim to grow its membership and to take proactive steps to support and promote the Licensed Conveyancing community. The SLC is currently working closely with the conveyancing and the lending communities to develop a lender panel proposition that will allow Licensed Conveyancers to access all lenders’ panels.
