As many conveyancers struggle to fill conveyancing vacancies one of the larger conveyancers is investing heavily to ensure they have sufficient staff.
Countrywide Conveyancing Services, is doubling its trainee intake for 2014 by enrolling 12 more applicants as part of its Trainee Lawyer Academy programme.
The business took the decision to double the size of its academy in response to the success of its first cohort of trainees which began in January 2014, and in response to growing demand within the industry for qualified conveyancing lawyers as activity in the housing market continues to grow.
The Countrywide Conveyancing Trainee Lawyer Academy is a new approach to recruitment, training and investment in conveyancing lawyers at the company. The focus of the academy is to recruit the right people with the right attributes who Countrywide feel have the potential to become successful property lawyers within the business.
Trainees will attend 125 hours of classroom training sessions delivered by qualified and experienced lawyers, covering all the legalities of a property sale and purchase but with an additional focus on communication pro-activity and customer service. The trainees, who join the Countrywide Conveyancing Trainee Lawyer Academy as Associate Property Lawyers, will be coached and mentored as they develop their experience. Upon completion of the programme they will gain promotion to a first grade Property Lawyer, moving onto a legal team within one of Countrywide’s Property Law Centres.
Alyn North, Group Professional Services Director, Countrywide plc said: “In response to increased industry demand for qualified conveyancers, we have doubled the intake for our 2014 programme, which will see us add a further 12 property lawyers to our numbers. The trainees will be based at our Manchester and Cardiff offices.
“The aim of the academy is to provide the appropriate training and practical application of the training to give trainees the skills, knowledge and experience to provide our customers with comprehensive and quality driven conveyancing, with the focus on delivering excellent customer service.
