NHBC to streamline acceptance of Buildmark Warranty process

Boyd Hackett, NHBC’s Commercial Projects Manager, recently spoke exclusively to Today’s Conveyancer about eAcceptance, the new online Buildmark acceptance process.
NHBC are currently developing eAcceptance, the new system designed to allow conveyancers to take complete control of Buildmark warranty.  eAcceptance gives instant online access to policy documentation such as the CML (Council of Mortgage Lenders) cover note and the Buildmark warranty certificate.
The existing acceptance process involves handwritten forms and manually sending via DX or post.  eAcceptance will remove these time-consuming steps and ensure a streamlined process that also removes paperwork storage.
Each newly built property will receive its own activation code and conveyancers will use this code to check the documents online before exchange of contracts.  Following completion, the conveyancer will be able to complete the information online and download the NHBC Buildmark warranty certificate.
eAcceptance has been 12 months in the development stage and is due to be launched in early 2012.  Boyd Hackett commented, “Conveyancers will learn more about eAcceptance in the coming months so that they are ready for the launch next year.  The new system is far more efficient against the current process, and we are confident this will benefit both conveyancers and home buyers”.
