New appointment to SLC board

The Society of Licensed Conveyancers (SLC) has announced the appointment of Lloyd Davies to its board of directors.

Mr Davies is the Managing Director at Convey Law, and has specialised in residential conveyancing since qualifying as a solicitor in 1995.

Throughout his career Mr Davies has been involved with various government steering committees in relation to conveyancing related legislation.

After establishing Convey Law in 2007, Lloyd has developed the company into one of the largest conveyancing companies in the UK.

Speaking of his appointment, Mr Davies said: “I am delighted to have been appointed to the board of directors for the SLC. The profession is in desperate need of strong representation and support and I hope to work alongside the wider board to help support and develop our membership.

“Our profile as Licensed Conveyancers needs to be enhanced, both in the eyes of the general public and in relation to the mortgage lender community and the SLC has a crucial role to play in this.

“It is an exciting time for the SLC and I look forward to working with the Society to ensure the continued success of our profession.”

Simon Law, Chairman, Society of Licensed Conveyancers (SLC) said: “Lloyd is a fantastic addition to our board and has already made an impact. With the imminent launch of SLC Quality Assured (SLCQA) our lender panel proposition on the table, a big focus for us over the next few months will be centred upon launching this to the market.

“Meeting and engaging with the lender community is going to be crucial to its success and it will be the SLC board that will lead this activity. We believe our proposition goes further in terms of protecting against fraud than anything else that is currently available in the market place and we are very excited about what the future will bring.”
