myhomemove acquire Easier2Move – 25th June 2010

myhomemove the large conveyancing organisation operating in the UK and supported by Indian outsourcing facilities has announced the acquisition of Easier2Move.
Easier2Move (often called E2M) has over the years developed as a panel manager and competed for work from brokers, estate agents and lenders with conveyancers and other panel managers.
The panel manager states on their website that “Over the years we have worked with a wide variety of clients including Alliance & Leicester PLC, Coventry Building Society, Stroud & Swindon Building Society, Cumberland Building Society, Norwich Union, Hamptons International, Andrews Estate Agents and hundreds of independent estate agents and mortgage brokers throughout the UK”
In a move clearly designed to funnel more work into the large licensed conveyancing practice Premier Property Lawyers, myhomemove appear to have made a strategic step forward.
Members of the E2M panel may wonder whether they will continue to receive work and whether the long term strategy is to fill myhomemove or whether the panel will be continued and will grow.
Ian Floyed, CEO of myhomemove said “we acquired Easier2move because of its great reputation for providing a quality service and the fact that its service and Introducers neatly complement our own. Easier2move has some great people and products, and has never been short of ideas. It also has some excellent relationships with quality conveyancing lawyers. We want to share their experience and expertise to continue our combined growth”.
Robin Marcus the outgoing CEO of Easier2move suggests that his business is the perfect fit with myhomemove. “Like myhomemove, we have made a benefit of always being staunchly independent, so a deal made sense from the outset — the discussions and negotiations had the feel of an alliance rather than an acquisition”.
Existing clients and users of Easier2move have no need for concern, as the company will still transact business as usual. Karen Babington and her team remain based at Southend and now join myhomemove, who employ just under 300 staff from their Leicester Head Office. Robin Marcus will work in a consultancy role for a period before moving on to concentrate on other business interests. The combined strength of the two firms means that it is without doubt the biggest and most complete provider of conveyancing in the UK.
Between the two companies they can now deliver a direct service from myhomemove’s own conveyancing company Premier Property Lawyers, a “lite touch” panel facility through Premier Panel (as used by the TEAM Association) and a traditional fully managed service through Easier2move."
They went on to say “You will still see the Easier2move name throughout the country — and the combined sales team will now have even more to offer.”
