MTA acquires volume conveyancing firm

MTA Solicitors have acquired Solex Legal Services, Legal Futures were able to reveal earlier this week.
MTA, an ABS firm, say they are making good progress with their programme of diversification.  The firm has recently acquired the Bromley based volume legal services firm, Solex Legal Services.
As well as volume conveyancing and remortgage services, Solex, who were established back in 1996, also have a mortgage possession and a debt recovery department and employ around 50 staff, who will move into the Bromley offices of MTA in July.
Commenting on the acquisition David Green, Managing Partner at MTA, said:
“Solex has an excellent platform in the property market which enables MTA to enter into that market on a scale basis and also enhance our existing debt recovery service. Solex will gain strength and financial stability from MTA, so that both businesses can expand and grow. “
MTA, who are making moves to expand the business beyond Personal Injury, say they are diversifying in the wake of the Legal Aid Sentencing and Punishment of Offenders Act coming into force but will still operate in the Personal Injury sector.  The integration of Solex will also see both businesses enhance their debt recovery departments.
Caroline Havers, owner of Solex, is said to be looking forward to working with MTA to integrate the two businesses and sees significant benefits for both companies.
Will more Personal Injury firms follow suit and acquire conveyancing practices in a bid to expand in what appears to be an increasingly changeable legal market?
