Licensed Conveyancers welcome June Mulroy

Following our report last week that the CLC have appointed Jane Mulroy as their new interim Chief Executive the Society for Licensed Conveyancer has welcomed the new appointment.

A SLC spokesperson said:“The Society of Licensed Conveyancers (SLC) would like to welcome June Mulroy into her post as interim Chief Executive for the Council of Licensed Conveyancers (CLC). The CLC has a vital role to play as the regulatory board for Licensed Conveyers and is well respected across the industry. We have engaged with the CLC across a number of matters over recent months and we look forward to working constructively with June to continue to address the challenges facing Licensed Conveyancers for the benefit of the profession, for the mortgage lending community and for the consumer.

“We have been working closely with the CLC on our lender panel proposition, SLC Quality Assured. The solution will prove an important tool in helping lenders to reduce the risk of fraud while allowing conveyancers to access all lenders’ panels. We are currently refining the solution and anticipate that it will be launched to the market over the coming weeks. The CLC has been consulted throughout the early stages of its development and we hope will continue to play an important role in its delivery.”

The SLC had been working very closely with Victor Olowe the previous CEO on their panel management proposals.

We are hoping to interview June Mulroy shortly and will bring you the news of how she intends to regulate licensed conveyancers in due course.
