Lawyers are ten years behind their clients when it comes to service

Jon Whittle of LexisNexis has called on conveyancers to forget about being a legal professional when considering what service their clients need.

Speaking to Josh Morris of Today’s Conveyancer at Legalex, Jon Whittle says clients will presume a legal professional understands the legal processes involved in their work, but that understanding the client’s needs is another matter.

Jon also believes that consumers seem to prefer fixed fee services, not from a position of value for money, but of limiting their potential exposure.

The 2016 Bellwether Report from LexisNexis, titled “The Riddle of Perception”, spells out many of the problems the legal profession is facing at the moment. Here, Jon discusses the implications for changes in interaction with clients, and how clients find their service providers.
