Landmark announces its second acquisition within a week

Whilst many conveyancers continue to feel the pinch the recent flurry of merger and acquisition activity around the edge of the conveyancing market continues.  Within the last few weeks myhomemove has made two acquisitions and now Landmark through its parent DMGI has announced its second acquisition in days.
Land market which already has an excellent reputation as a provider of environmental data to conveyancers has acquired Argyll the provider of environmental data reports, risk assessments  and compliance audits to legal, financial and property professionals.
Stephen Stout, on behalf of DMGI said "Argyll has proven expertise and a great reputation for providing primarily desk-based tailored services in environmental risk. Increasing attention is being paid to environmental liability, especially given tighter lending criteria prevalent in today’s markets, and Argyll will enable us to deliver the future needs of the market as environmental consultants, financial institutions and the legal sector demand more from their partners such as Landmark."
Antony Turck, on behalf of Argyll noted: "We are extremely proud and excited to have joined the DMGI group and the natural synergies across our companies will enable us to offer cost-effective commercial advice to the market in the context of investment, divestment, acquisitions and mergers.  We are particularly keen to explore how our services can provide Landmark’s current environmental and legal customers with new solutions that work for them."
Argyll has grown to provide  niche environmental due diligence services to many of the UK’s largest commercial law firms and several leading financial institutions, combining desktop reports with in-house environmental expertise as well as a range of related services that can be tailored to each client. Argyll has also been involved in numerous consulting projects offering strategic advice and all of their environmental reports are assessed by degree-educated IEMA-accredited professionals using only the best available data.
Argyll have been using Landmark data for over 6 years, and in December 2009 Argyll, in partnership with Landmark, launched Site Solutions Commercieel in Holland, the first commercial environmental due diligence report available in mainland Europe.
The proposed acquisition is subject to the usual regulatory approvals and consents.
