Land Registration transactions data shows change at the top

The Land Registry has released the latest figures for those organisations that hold accounts with them, showing their activity for August 2013.

Information relating to applications for transfers for value (i.e. an approximation of purchase activity) showed the number of total firms making applications fell only slightly from 4579 to 4389 between August 2012 and 2013.

There were a number of changes amongst the big players and whilst the top three remained myhomemove, Countrywide and O-Neill, they all changed position.

In August 2012 Countrywide dominated with 1552 completed applications with myhomemove in second with 1484 and O’Neill Patient in third with 974.

In August 2013 Countrywide saw a significant fall in applications with 774 applications dropping them to third, myhomemove surged ahead with 1509 and O’Neill Patient moved into the second spot with 950.

There was plenty of other repositioning within the top 20 with Beaumont Legal seeing themselves drop out from fourth spot on 509 applications to 18th with just 220 this year.
