Legal professionals from all branches of the industry turned out this week for a sponsored walk through London.
Fundraisers gathered outside the Law Society’s Chancery Lane building before strolling through the city and returning for food, drinks and entertainment.
The 10km walk was in aid of the London Legal Support Trust who assist law centres and legal advice agencies by providing them with grant funding alongside other forms of support, enabling them to offer free advice in cases relating to disability, debt, employment, issues of modern day slavery, care facilities, and homelessness.
President of the Law Society Jonathan Smithers said: “It was fantastic to see so many lawyers come together because they passionately believe in access to justice .We believe around 10,000 people walked, ran and jogged across the capital raising money for the London Legal Support Trust, in what was the biggest London Legal Walk yet.
“It is of vital importance that legal advice is available to those who need it irrespective of their means and background. This event is a testament to the legal profession’s tireless commitment to a fair and equal justice system.”
