Firm marks 120th anniversary with new Harrogate office

By launching a new  Harrogate office specialising in conveyancing, one of Yorkshire’s most established law firms has broken new ground.

Celebrating its 120th anniversary this year, Leeds-based Milers are the most recent solicitors firm to establish a place within the spa town of Harrogate, where the legal presence is growing.

Through what it describes as “one of the longest office corridors in Yorkshire”, the firm’s new office will be closely linked with its Whitehall Waterfront based headquarters.

The Harrogate office team will be led by partner Mat Haynes and will specialise in the full suite of private and commercial law services. This includes specialising in conveyancing, as well as wills, probate and inheritance planning.

Milners’ managing partner, Simon Bass, commented on the increasing desirability of Harrogate as business location.

“Harrogate’s popularity as a place to live and work continues to gather pace and we are delighted to establish an office presence in the town for the first time.

“We may be a new name to some in Harrogate but we have an unrivalled pedigree – and track record of success – that stretches back for more than a century.

“This expansion represents a natural progression for us, as we have built up over many years a growing portfolio of personal and business clients across Harrogate and its surrounding towns and villages.

“It is also a signal of the confidence that we are investing in the district’s ability to continue to thrive – and be part of the centre of legal excellence that is emerging here to meet people’s needs and support that growth.”

“In what we hope will be one of the longest office corridors in Yorkshire, Harrogate will have access to our pool of legal talent company-wide.”

The new office’s location also means that Giles Ward, the senior partner and litigation specialist at Milners’ will make a return to his Harrogate roots. His legal career began in 1992, whilst working on a case around the collapse of a building during renovation work.

Milners was found in 1897 by the late Leeds Coroner James Milner and provides specialist advice in various areas of law as well as extending to offer non-business related advice.
