Fifth ABS licence issued

The Council for Licensed Conveyancers (CLC) has granted an ABS licence to Total Conveyancing Services, the trading name of LMS Direct Conveyancing Limited.

June Mulroy interim Chief Executive, CLC, said: "We are very pleased to announce that Total Conveyancing Services has become an Alternative Business Structure – the fifth licence to be issued by the CLC.

“We are satisfied that TCS will adhere to the principles of our outcomes-focused regulatory regime and our congratulations go to all of the team for passing our rigorous application process."

Lee Hartshorn, Total Conveyancing Services Director and Head of Legal Practice, said: "We are both thrilled and proud to have been awarded a licence by the CLC to operate as an Alternative Business Structure.

“There are a number of key objectives which we as a business are aiming to achieve and this was one of them.

"We are wholly owned by LSL property Services, Connells and LMS, so becoming an ABS is crucial to us continuing to operate after 6 October 2012 within our current corporate structure."

Mr Hartshorn said the application was extremely thorough and detailed and thanked the CLC for their help during the process.

Earlier this week the CLC issued its fourth ABS licence to Enact.
