Chris Edwards and property community raise over £6,000 for homeless charities

As part of a Charity Auction at My Home Move’s Annual Housing Conference and Awards Dinner, estate agents, mortgage brokers and intermediaries from across the property industry have raised over £6,000 for homeless charities supported by the MHM Charitable Trust.

Hosted by Chris Edwards, Managing Director of the Edwards Moore Property Group, guests bid on items including a Gin experience, 4 Ball on The Belfry’s Brabazon Course and Hospitality at Old Trafford.

The conference, which was held on Thursday 11th May 2017 at the Belfry Hotel and Golf Resort in Warwickshire, explored how ‘Smart’ technology is impacting the UK property market.

The money raised will be donated to the organisations supported by the MHM Charitable Trust, which include The Bridge Homelessness to Hope (Leicester), The Hope Centre (Northampton), Mustard Tree (Manchester) and the Snehalaya Children’s Home (India).

On Saturday 20th May, 35 employees from across My Home Move will be adding more to the Trust’s pot by completing a 26-mile hiking challenge in the Malvern Hills.

The challenge, which includes 20 hills and an ascent of 4358ft, will take the volunteers between 10-12 hours to complete, dependant on weather conditions.

Speaking ahead of the trek, Rob Gurney, Head of Legal Practice at My Home Move and trustee of the Charitable Trust, said: “We’ve been taking on hiking challenges since 2011 and every year we have a great turnout from staff, as well as more and more donations towards our Charitable Trust. We’ve taken on some of Britain’s most infamous walking challenges and having completed them all, I know it’s no easy task. I’m incredibly proud of all of our volunteers for taking part in the challenge and for their commitment to raising money for the good causes we support.”

After raising a record £25,514.13 in 2016, My Home Move has challenged its employees to raise even more for the good causes the Trust supports this year.
